A few things to know about registering your child for Pre-K through Smart Start, Head Start or the Office of Early Learning.
Pre-K is typically a 6 1/2 hour day, five days a week.
These Pre-K providers follow the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools district calendar
Most Pre-K providers do not provide transportation or before/after school care for students.
Regular attendance is strongly recommended for all students.
Once your application is submitted, placement notifications will occur between June 1 and July 31.
Different providers will require different documentation, but in general, the following documents will be required to register your child for Pre‑K in Forsyth County.
• Child’s Birth Certificate
• Proof of Income
• Proof of Residency
• Parent or Guardian’s Picture ID
• Child’s Immunization Record
